big brother outing

big brother's david

the new season of australia's version of big brother has begun and true to form, the producers have again promised plenty of surprises in store for the housemates. last night, farmer housemate david decided to do a bit of his own as he came out of the closet on national television, after a speed-dating task got too much.

the queensland ex-model gathered his housemates in the lounge to reveal: "i wouldn't normally be speed-dating where guys are on one side and girls are on the other. i'd be speed-dating where guys are on one side and guys are on the other. i'm the token farmer and the token gay guy."

the teary revelation was met with hugs and handshakes, except for a disappointed camilla, who clearly fancies the snag. she stayed seated on the couch, tears running down her face, claiming she felt deceived. eventually david approached her to talk, explaining that he'd wanted to tell her all along but it had just been too hard for him. after a brief chat, camilla gave david a big hug and assured him that all was forgiven. they then discussed who david was attracted to, admitting that he finds dino and michael attractive, but is most drawn to jamie.

after all the excitement and stress of the evening, david stepped into the diary room to speak with big brother who asked him if he was fully aware of the ramifications of his revelation. it is understood david's parents were unaware their son was gay. it is also believed that they do not own a television. clearly feeling overwhelmed by it all, david made a tearful tribute to his mother before stating that he hoped she would support and be proud of him.

his very moving admission to big brother spoke of the years of pain that david had carried and the now final relief from this recent cathartic experience.

just beautiful, part 2

who weekly most beautiful people 2006 issuethe australian who weekly magazine has released its annual most beautiful people double issue which includes a fine group of beautiful men. concluding from yesterday's blog are a few more from this year's selection:

kuno becker

kuno becker

why is he beautiful? a former mexican soap opera star, becker has scored his big break in the loudly titled soccer movie "goal!". however, the 28 year old had to tackle one problem: he can't play soccer. "when i was a kid, i was more into arts and classical music." he also had the enviable task of being an acting coach to the man himself, one mr david beckham, who has a one-line cameo in the movie. "i told him to just try and enjoy it." so, smart, a quick learner, talented and handsome... sounds like becker will be going a long way.

jonathan rhys meyers

jonathan rhys meyers

why is he beautiful? meyers career kicked off with the 2002 soccer flick "bend it like beckham" (is there a theme here?) and recently starred in the acclaimed woody allen movie, "match point" with sexy co-star scarlett johansson who found it surprisingly easy kissing her co-star. "jonathan's very hunky so i can't complain." the 28-year-old irisih spunk is also quite confident and charismatic, "i can turn it on like a tap water... even if i'm not feeling great, i can pull together some essence of charm. but it doesn't always work."

adam brody

adam brody

why is he beautiful? well, just look at him! brody brings adorable geekiness to a whole new level of sizzling spunk. funny, talented, artistic and handsome, he is the ideal boyfriend material. apart from starring as quick-wit seth in "the oc", he is the drummer in a band called 'big japan', loves collecting plaid shirts, and is one sweet guy. he bought a pup because "i wanted a dog for cuddling". rachel bilson should count herself one like biatch! oh adam, you're supposed to be my future husband! *sigh*

eye candy of the week: ian somerhalder

ian somerhalder and his dreamy eyes

the son of a massage therapist and building contactor, ian somerhalder was born in the small town of mandeville in louisiana. boating, swimming, fishing and training horses filled much of his time growing up, as did the drama club and performing with the local theatre group. at 16 he began pursuing acting professionally in new york, and by 19 he had committed himself to working with the prestigious acting coach, william esper.

somerhalder's breakout opportunity came with the lead role on the series "young americans". his other television credits include "csi", "csi: miami", "law & order: special victims unit" and "smallville". he is best known for his character 'boone' in the jj abrams series, "lost".

in 2005, the 5'9" tall actor bulked up, adding about 20 to 30 pounds of muscle to his slim frame, so he would be considered for more leading-man-type roles. and boy, does he look even better! now residing in los angeles, somerhalder spends much of his time writing, reading, producing and perfecting his craft. on the brain

what's in those pants?

i think i've seen too many dicks.

a friend recently confided that he has never seen another cock apart from his own. it's a little unusual but fair enough. he's neither gay (yet) nor a footy player. so he was quite curious to know what another one looked like. after all, he had been staring only at his own for the last 20 years.

another friend - female this time - wanted to know how one could tell the difference from a cut member to an uncut one. i asked her what brought on this line of questioning but the poor girl went shy. she mumbled something about just wanting to know what it looked like in the flesh (and i'll add, up close as well). i didn't quite buy it - there seemed to be something more. so further probing by yours truly had her confessing that she's actually touched one but never seen one.

"how the hell did that happen?," i asked.
"ahhh well... the cinema was dark and i was too shy to look down."
right.

which leads me to the conclusion that compared to those two, i've seen way too many penises. i'm not implying that i'm promiscuous - hardly at all. i can count the number of sexual partners i've had in one hand... well okay, maybe two. but from the time i've been sexually active in my teens up until now, i've already lost count of the number of dicks i've seen.

i won't bore you with the details of how, why, where and when (i don't kiss and tell...). but what i would say is that the sightings haven't been all in the flesh. like most gaybois - heck, even just your average males - i like my porn. and with the internet these days, they're not at all very hard to get a hold off (porn, not cocks; the latter needs a bit of work). unlike str8 porn, however, the dick count on gay porn is substantially more. for a start, you're guaranteed to see at least two in a given scene (not counting the solo sessions like simon rex's one-hand-wonder videos) and more often than not, there'll be three, four, five... even fifteen cocks in one shot (bel ami group video - hot!).

but disregarding the celluloid versions as well as the webcam encounters, i still think that i have seen too many dicks in the flesh. so much so that i now seem to have the ability to vividly imagine the members of guys i have only just met, thanks to the library of images in my head. a fellow i was introduced to last week was of an italian extraction who was tallish with a nice build. i would guess confidently that he had a 7-incher, not too fat with a nice girth. it would have been uncut, too. another guy, this time asian on the slim side would have had an average 5-6 inch, again uncut, but a dick that would have been darker in colour than his normal skin tone. the stocky german student would have been circumcised but with a cock more thick than long. and then there was the pale aussie bloke with forearms as thick as one of my thighs. a monster that would have been at least 8-inch, cut, vein-ey, white but with a head as red as a tomato.

of course, i could be completely wrong.

the tall white guy could have the tiniest dick. the asian guy a long eggplant. the italian fellow could have had a cut member that bent to the right.

it's all just imagination. after all, isn't the real fun lies in the finding out???

hmmm... come to think of it, maybe i actually haven't seen enough.

how about you???

scary movie 4

caught scary movie 4 last nite and, like the last three in the comedy-horror spoof franchise, it's still as irreverent and inane as ever.

this time, dim-witted cindy campbell and her sex-crazed pal, brenda, are back and joined by clueless dad, tom ryan who together must battle to save the world from a ruthless alien invasion of the "tri-ipods".

spoofing "war of the worlds" and other horror flicks such as "saw", "the village" and "the grudge", the movie also takes a big swipe at tom cruise. the closing scenes with tom ryan on 'oprah' is a hilarious take on cruise's jump-on-the-couch performance from the show.

the gays don't escape either. in the "brokeback mountain" parody, two black fishing buddies who aren't on the 'down-low' are later seen in naked butt chaps cowboy outfits. as well, there is a couple of male amish domestic partners getting it on in the town meeting.

as expected, the laughs are cheap relying on gross-out and "funniest home videos" inspired humour, but surprisingly, there are genuinely funny moments in this film. the opening teaser with dr phil and shaq in a spoof of "saw" is probably the best one.

scary movie 4 stars anna faris, regina hall, and newcomer, craig bierko, as well as cameos from dr. phil, shaq, carmen electra and james earl jones. also in the movie are cute-as-a-button, conchita campbell from "the 4400" as rachel and young spunk, beau mirchoff as robbie - that's him below.

beau mirchoff

scary movie 4... so delightfully terrible that it's actually funny! two tri-ipods out of four.

i heart sydney, part 2

r*yan in sydney

after spending saturday nite and most of early sunday morning at 'chinese laundry', chester and i took the night bus back to penrith; a trip i've dubbed the "chester's arse falling bus ride home".

we got in at half-past four and both hit the sack not long after. unlike chester though, i unfortunately didn't have the luxury of sleeping in and was soon up at six to freshen up and get ready for a whole day of sydney sight-seeing. a quick greasy breakfast, several cups of coffee and a couple of panadol, and we were soon off for the day. with me were my folks and cousins roxanne and albert, along with tita cory's family, husband tito rollie and two lovable kids jovelle and jeffrey. all were headed to the city by train, a one-hour trip in which i spent most of sleeping - it was going to be a common theme for the day.

imposing: the towers of st mary's cathedral

once in the city, we headed straight for st mary's cathedral (above) - one of the oldest church in australia. it was a gorgeous easter sunday, and like in my previous visit, sydney had once again turned out the beautiful weather. bright and sunny with clear blue skies, the day was warm with a light cool breeze. we cut across hyde park, where people were setting up for what looked to be a big outdoor concert. the stage was up and the crew were placing large speakers around the park. along the main promenade was an art installation of black and white images blown up on large fabric canvasses, including infamous images such as the munich games' terrorist on the balcony and the naked vietnamese girl. sunday joggers, tourists, church-goers and backpackers were all equaly intrigued.

poses: (from top left) one of the statues in front of st mary's cathedral, on the steps amongst other tourists, and a group shot out front

we crossed the street to the cathedral and took photos on the forecourt, along with the hundred other tourists. built in 1868, three years after the original was destroyed by fire, the st mary's cathedral is a grand and imposing building. built from sandstone, it stretches as high as 75m with twin towers that flank a rose window located near the apex of the 46m high central tower. inside, the church is equally compelling, of gothic style, it has an arched ceiling that stretches 22m high, a nave that is 25m wide and a length of 107m. the easter sunday mass was about to commence and the church was filled to the rafters. everyone had a good vantage point of the altar regardless of where you stood as plasma panels were discreetly installed on the church's many columns - it was a surreal blend of the old with the new.

waterworks: (from top) the archibald fountain at hyde park, a group shot with yours truly, and silly poses

leaving the cathedral, we headed back to hyde park where we took time to admire the archibald fountain - a large water feature reminiscent of an italian construction. from here, we decided to walk the length of macquarie street which would take us to circular quay and the opera house.

macquarie street is a tree-lined road bordered by business establishments and historical buildings. here you'll find the government house, hyde park barracks, parliament house and the state library to name a few. also on this street is martin place, a precint now famous for as the location of australia's channel seven station, and more specifically, the weekday morning program, sunrise.

from there, we continued up macquarie street and entered the royal botanic gardens. established in 1816, it is a 30-hectare oasis in the heart of city and bordered by the sydney harbour. there are some spectacular views at the park, from massive ancient trees to the bright glass pyramid glasshouse (reminiscent of the one in louvre paris) and the surrounding towering buildings on macquarie street to the opera house complex. and weaving our way through the park, we found ourselves exactly at the latter.

at the opera house: (from top) albert and roxanne on the steps, sun glints off the white tiles, the unique egg-shell shape roofs, a boy poses on the opera house forecourt, yours truly with my cousins, and view of the bustling circular quay from the opera house

as always, the iconic sydney opera house was surrounded by countless number of people. a great deal of course were tourists but a select few, as i had found out, were locals who simply enjoyed a warm sunny sunday on the opera's steps. and who wouldn't? opened in 1973, the sydney opera house is one of the most recognisable structures in the world and has become an enduring image of australia. the unusual egg-shell shaped roofs are in fact covered in hundreds of thousands of small white tiles that are maintained and replaced all year round. the vantage point from the opera house is simply fantastic - postcard view all around. from the south is the lush green scenery of the gardens which leads to farm cove to the east and to the northern banks that is the beginning of north sydney. from the south-west is circular quay, a hub of activity with tourists and locals doing anything and everything from eating, resting, working, or simply passing through, to the trains and ferries moving the hundreds of people. and finally to the west was the equally famous and recognisable sydney harbour bridge - the world's largest steel arch bridge standing 134m above the harbour. busy with traffic going to and fro, the bridge also allow keen adventurers the privilege to scale its steel arches... at aud$300 a pop! i was quite happy to admire from a distance.

submerged: (from top left) the famous 'coathanger' sydney harbour bridge, the northern end structure, underwater passages at sydney aquarium's shark enclosure, and the floor-to-ceiling glass wall of the reef enclosure

we stopped for lunch at one of the quay's many eateries where the menu was a delightfully camp newspaper broadsheet. the food was okay fare but with a tourist price tag - even the locals thought it expensive. once lunch was over, we took the ferry to darling harbour. the number of people at cockle bay was equal to that at circular quay's and quite possibly more. here there were outdoor bands, buskers and performers entertaining the masses. the eateries were still doing a roaring trade and the lines for the clubs from last nite have been replaced with lines of people getting into attractions such as the imax theatre or the sydney aquarium. we visited the latter. home to some of australia's unique marine creatures, the sydney aquarium houses many things fishy and not so fishy. there are live crocodiles, seals, great white sharks, colorful reef dwellers and even penguins. initially, i wasn't very impressed with some of the displays as they looked rather dated (the aquarium was opened in 1988), but the place came to its own at the underground walkthrough of the shark enclosure. seeing the ferocious monsters easily gliding through the water, you develop a newfound respect for their reputation and relief at the reinforced glass between you and them. the final display at the aquarium was the most breath-taking of all. the walkway weaves through some of the most beautiful displays of australian reef marine fauna you'd ever see, eventually ending up in a cavernous room with a 20-foot high glass wall of the reef enclosure. completing the whole underwater feeling was the pipped in relaxing music of pipes and crystal sounds. i want one for my bedroom!

all aboard: (from top left) at one of sydney's monorail stations, waiting for the carriages, the ferry ride back from cockle bay wharf to circular quay, the ferris wheel at luna park, and the infamous luna park entrance

a couple of hours after the aquarium, we headed out and up to one of sydney's monorail stations to take a high-view of the city. a cross between a light-rail system and a rollercoaster, the monorail cabin afforded great views with just the right speed and sensations. sometimes we got so close to some of the buildings that we could virtually see those inside. after a few trips on the monorail, we disembarked again at cockle bay and caught the ferry back to circular quay. we planned on catching another ferry to head to manly beach but it was getting late in the day and the weather had turned cold.

golden: the sun sets over the harbour(left) and the opera house at dusk (right)

the sun was just beginning to set as the ferry travelled back to circular quay - the late dying rays washed over the bay and painted both the bridge and the opera house in gorgeous golden hues. it was very romantic and the couples in the ferry clearly felt that way. and quicker than one would hope, the rays were soon gone and were then replaced by the lights which formed the sydney nightscape. spotlights of yellow, bright fluorescent whites, neon blues and touches of pinks, even at night, sydney was equally beautiful and striking.

i heart sydney, part 1

r*yan in sydney

my easter long weekend was spent in sydney along with my family and two cousins, roxanne and albert. we drove to get there as dad thought the road trip would be a lot of fun - i love that about him. punctuated by stops at fast food joints and petrol stations, the ten-hour road trip, though long, was indeed enjoyable. i spent most of it listening to a fully-charged and loaded ipod and reading stephen king's latest "zombie" book, 'the cell', in between the sleeping sessions.

by early evening, we arrived at tita cory's place - a cousin of dad's - where we would stay over the weekend. it was great timing as we caught up with relatives who were also vacationing from the philippines. i also met chester for the second time, though i thought initially that i'd never met him before. i have no clear recollection of it, but he still remembers meeting me and becoming friends when we caught the same flight 15 years ago on our way to australia. he felt sad he said when we had to part at sydney and we flew on to melbourne. a house and chill-out music fan, chester is a sydney local who lived nearby but who is looking to move to melbourne. he is a very friendly and approachable guy, clearly suited to his profession of p.r. and marketing. we have a lot in common: younger than i am by only a couple of years, born in the same month, only a little taller than i, wears the same labels as i do, likes the same music, drinks the same wines - he would have been a perfect match, if it weren't for the unfortunate fact that the boi was straight (and no, not doing that again!) and could also possibly be a relative.

after a long and chatty dinner, the rest of the group settled down for a night of videoke and more chatting. chester had other ideas. we were going out to sydney to hit the clubs.

after an hour's long train ride into the cbd, we decided to check out the house clubs along sussex street, in particular, a place called 'chinese laundry'. chester's never been there before either so it was going to be a new thing for the both of us. walking the length of sussex right down to darling harbour, we found out that the club was still closed. so to kill some time, we headed straight into cockle bay wharf on darling harbour where there were a lot of nicely dressed young people who were clearly off their collective faces. asking a young pretty but tragically looking chick, we found that it was derby day - horse-racing and alcohol.

darling harbour at night
cockle bay wharf
saturday night-out: (top to bottom) darling harbour nitescape and cockle bay wharf with homebar and home nightclub in the background

this was my second time at darling harbour but my first time out at night. it was pretty, full of people heading home or just starting out. the restaurants along the wharf were doing great trades and there were long lines to get into the clubs. the famous 'home' nightclub looked deserted, but it was still early. the aud$55 cover charge may also have something to do with the lack of patrons.

after buying cookies from subway (carbs for the late-nite dancing), we headed back to 'chinese laundry'. the two storey venue is a maze-like complex with rooms dedicated to hard-trance, r&b, chill-out, and an outdoor area. after a while, i found myself and chester, my found-again friend, in the funky cool and intimate house room of 'chinese laundry'. more fitting of the name, the room was decked out in chinese decorations - dragons, lucky coins, chopsticks and buddhas. with drinks to warm us up and to keep us going, we danced saturday nite away til the early hours of sunday morning, clearly impressing the locals with my 'melbourne shuffle'. it didn't matter that only a few hours later, i'd have to freshen up and spend the whole day sight-seeing with the family. who cares? i was pissed, i was having fun, i was in a completely different city where nobody knew who i was, and i wanted to dance.

more drunk than i, chester became even more friendly. he was making friends with anyone who got close enough; asking people's names, shaking hands, giving out friendly hugs and announcing to anyone who cared that i was his mate all the way from melbourne. chester was clearly enjoying himself and it was hard not to get swept by his enthusiasm. by the end of the night, we were friends with everybody. i loved it.

we eventually left the club and headed to the night buses. the short stroll took longer than expected as chester decided to make friends with anyone and everyone along the way. we met backpackers from norway, students from korea, and locals who were partying since early saturday morning. and even at 3am on sunday, there were heaps of others out and about town. we almost didn't get on the bus back to penrith with the amount of people waiting. the ride home was pretty uneventful - just chatting with the other passengers - except for when the bus swerved around the corner and chester, who was sleeping and curled up in a seat, slipped and fell on his arse on the floor. it was hella funny and everyone else found it amusing. the boi woke up startled, looked around himself as drunk people could only do, and then took a bow from the crowd.

and to think that i'd only been in sydney no less than 6 hours. i still had a whole day's worth of sight-seeing to get through later that day on what surely will be only 2 hours sleep. oh, what fun!

i heart sydney will conclude tomorrow with part 2.

adam mcphee (born october 6, 1982) is an australian rules football player, who currently wears the number 33 jumper for the essendon bombers. he is a versatile player who has played in both attack and defense, and is much admired for his aggressive approach at the football.

mcphee was originally recruited by the fremantle dockers, a team based in western australia and with whom he made his debut in 2001. to the end of 2002, mcphee asked to be traded back to his home state of victoria. he got his wish when he was traded to the bombers in a three way deal involving essendon, fremantle and brisbane.

in mcphee's first year at essendon, he played every game, and his tough approach earned him the club's "most courageous player" award. however it was in 2004 that mchee really made his mark as an afl player. in that year he was selected on the half-back flank in the all australian team, won the w.s. crichton medal as essendon's best and fairest player, and was essendon's highest vote getter in the brownlow medal.

in 2005, mcphee was restricted to only 14 games through injury and could not repeat his feats of 2004.

albert and roxanne's summer holidays

my two cousins, albert and roxanne

welcome albert and roxanne!

my two favourite cousins arrived in australia today for their summer holiday. it's roxanne's second time, having visited us way back when she was eight years old, and albert's first. so far, i think both are enjoying it - i know albert can't wait to meet some aussie grrls. bless.

the next six weeks is going to be about sightseeing, shopping and eating. and maybe albert and roxanne might want to come, too! *har har*

in the meantime, the blog may not be updated as often but i promise to post photos from our trips.

so, if you can't go away for a holiday, get others to come to you... it's just as good!

eye candy of the week: josh wald

tattooed and hirsute hottie, josh wald

josh wald, born 1979, is a model and skateboarder who boasts the rare combo of having dangerous straight boy appeal with pretty boy, chiseled model good looks.

there's really only one word that can sum up all of josh's positive attributes — hot! from the first second he stepped foot on a runway in new york only a few years ago, josh has been one of the most in demand models in the world, having done ad campains for rocco barocco and the gap, as well as featuring in runway shows for dolce & gabbana and versace.

when he's not strutting his stuff on the catwalks for new york and paris, josh earns a living as a pro skateboarder. the risk taking, ramp-jumping spunk is also pursuing acting on the side — having made already his new york stage debut off-broadway.

josh was featured in a spring 2005 fashion photo spread in american gay publication, 'out magazine', where he was seen naked with a strategically placed skateboard. the hot shots ensured josh his popularity and status as prime eye candy.

channing tatum and his cock

channing tatum and his cock

yep, that's him holding a rooster :P

and if you want to see channing tatum with balls, other bois and girls dressed as bois, check out the movie, she's the man.

a modern re-telling of shakespeare's "twelfth night", channing plays duke who... wants olivia who likes sebastian who is really viola whose brother is dating monique so she hates olivia who's with duke to make sebastian jealous who is really viola who's crushing on duke who thinks she's a guy...

anyway, it's surprisingly entertaining.
go see it, if only for some "channing candy".

she's the man is in aussie cinemas now.

casual mate

with hundreds and thousands of blogs existing in the blogosphere, it's hard to stand out from the pack. yet, there are many sites out there that do. staples of numerous feeds and visited religiously by devoted readers, these sites share some unique qualities that separate them from the rest: the right combination of style, creative writing and wit... and for the gay male readerships, luscious eye candy.

casual in istanbul

casual in istanbul is a perfect example. created by two souls who are simply "living a quiet and a peaceful life despite all the crowd and noise...", the site shows innovation and creativity that is seldom seen in other blogs. casting a discerning and appreciating eye on beautiful men in film, sports, photography, music, television and porn, and with features on local talent as well as overseas, casual in istanbul is a site truly dedicated to all the male beauties in the world. and their tastes cannot be faulted.

the other great thing about casual in istanbul - apart from the great images and witty writing - is that yours truly has now become one of their coveted casual webmates. and i get my very own graphic, too! check it out below:

r*yan's graphic on casual webmates

so head over to casual in istanbul and have a look around. as the authors have written on their site, "we love what we have... hope you like it too." trust me, you will.

rizzo's world: umbrellas and camel toes

it's been a while since i've heard from rizzo. so i was glad to have received not one, but two emails from her this week.

check out the wacky things she found while doing her thang in "the land of the rising sun":
what are you trying to keep dry, mister?

i'll be catching up with rizzo over beer and a barbie when she visits oz next week. i'll have photos from the day that's sure to be crazy, rizzo-style!

"i'm pretty much a couch potato," miller admits. but for his role as the young silk in the film 'the human stain' (2003), the naturally lean english hunk was required to shape up.

it was a rigorous workout regimen. miller worked with the same trainer that worked with denzel washington in 'the hurricane'. it was 3 months of training, 5 days a week, 4 to 5 hours a day. this was followed by a month of choreography.

click to enlarge click to enlarge

and the result of 4 months of preparation and about 12 hours of shooting? about 30 seconds of screen time.

worried sick

i've been feeling sick all week and frankly, i'm a little worried and, well, sick of it.

it began last sunday. feeling a little tired, i decided to skip the usual workout after work and instead headed straight home. by the time i'd finished a late lunch, i felt completely exhausted and had only enough energy to crawl into bed. i had my radio gig that nite and i definitely wasn't going to miss it. with the help of some panadol tablets and a few hours afternoon sleep, i was feeling a little better. later that nite, with my sister in tow, we headed to the city to do an hour's spot of broadcasting. i knew i'd come good when we went on air and i had a blast! what i wasn't expecting was how badly i would feel after the show. driving home, i got the shivers that usually came before a trangkaso (muscle-aching fever). in bed with tracksuit pants, t-shirt, jumper, a thick blanket and the heater.

fortunately, i didn't have to wake really early for work the next day - i got a couple extra hours of shut-eye. the thought of starting later than usual and a very quick shift made getting outta bed a little easier. so i dragged my arse to work and ploughed through. boy, i could not remember ever having such a long and arduous time at work - and it was only a two-hour shift! i felt like hell and looked like it, too - people made sure i knew that fact. when work done, straight home, in bed. sleep, telly, blog and food were the agenda for the day.

called in sick the next day and rightly so. i had sufficient bed rest but was completely slept out by 7am in the morning. decided to do a bit of blogging. popped the telly on some and ate a few comfort food, mainly chocolate, some ice cream and nachos, which i shared with the sister. that was pretty much my tuesday.

i felt well enough to go to work the next day. i was up by 4:30am to open the gym at 5:30am. three hour shift didn't seem so bad but felt like re-lapsing about halfway through. didn't feel like talking to any of the clients, in fact, felt like slapping a few. panadol and some camomile tea saw me through. met up with my mate dave straight after work even though i still felt a bit under the weather. caught up over coffee - there were a few things that needed to be shared - and finally saw his newborn brother - cute as a button. rest of the day, bed rest and more comfort food. already feeling shitty from missing the workouts and equally guilty for the amount of junk i've been eating. oh well, i'm sick.

thursday began with another early shift which again ended three hours later. it was quiet and i liked it. less people to deal with. though i love my job, i'm a little over it at the moment. at least ii felt i was on the mend. i was feeling a little better and surprisingly, creative and inspired. did a spot of re-decorating when i got home and gave the blog a much needed update. later that nite, went out with sister and her boyfriend for a bit of shopping and take-away food. spent AUD$100+ on a specially ordered hooded top, which i really can't afford at the moment. oh well, i was sick. then the weather turned real shitty, blustery and cold. got home and not long after, felt the chills. bummer.

which brings us to today. woke up groggily with a throat that felt as dry as sandpaper, which no amount of water could quench. did have the energy to change the bed - thought i'd be best to have fresh sheets and to get rid of the sick and night sweat smell. spent the rest of the morning watching re-runs of old cartoons. did not want to go to work, but dragged my arse there anyway. not happy. eyes felt so heavy like they do when one gets hayfever, minus the drippy, sneezy nose. all i wanted was to finish an overdue project and go home. people kept annoying me, was getting irritated and angrier by the minute. luckily, colleague was kind enough to relieve me an hour early. maybe she saw the fumes coming out of my ears. thought i needed rescuing. went home and felt like screaming and swearing til face turned blue. didn't, of course, but instead just stared blankly at the telly. i feel exhausted and drained.

normally, i would just ride this thing out. i get sick easily. but this time, it feels a little different. i'm not sick enough to be unwell, yet not unwell enough to be sick. i have muscle aches and pains but i don't have a temperature. i think i may have a 'bug' yet my glands aren't swollen - i checked. i don't think it's the flu nor tonsilitis neither. perhaps i just caught something that's going around at work. i know a few people who are sick, too.

or it could have something to do with what had happened at last friday nite's drinking session. that has me plenty worried...

or maybe, it's all in my head, and i'm worrying about nothing. maybe i'll come good next week. maybe it won't last the whole month. maybe. hopefully.

in the meantime, maybe adam scott could cheer me up.

what do you say, adam?

fit and purdy adam scott

afl men: brodie holland

brodie holland
brodie hollandclub: collingwood magpies
guernsey number: 6
born: 3 january 1980
height: 180cm
weight: 80kg
origin: glenorchy, tasmania
debut: 1998
position: midfielder, forward

collingwood's brodie holland

brodie holland is one of collingwood's - and afl's - most recognisable player - on and off the field.

the magpie tough nut has shed several skins in his afl career on the way to a personal best 2005 season. after starting as a burst player-cum-goalsneak, holland reinvented himself as a tagger and, in the absence of his team's skipper (captain), became a genuine midfielder who averaged 24 disposals and dipped below 20 touches just once in the last 15 games in 2005. he was rewarded with runner-up in the club best and fairest, just two votes shy of the winner.

click to enlarge click to enlarge

holland is a talented and versatile performer. along with his prowess on the footy field, his talents have been seen on the dancefloor, dressing up as tarzan on the aussie version of "dancing with the stars"; on the catwalk during l'orel melbourne fashion festivals; and on several publications, including cleo magazine's centrefold. holland has also been immortalised by ross watson in his painting, untitled #17/04 (after jacques-louis david, 1784; featuring brodie holland).

click to enlarge click to enlarge

unsurprisingly, holland has developed a huge gay-following, and to his credit, he not only acknowledges but also embraces his gay fans. he participated at this year's melbourne gay and lesbian midsumma festival to judge the "dog show" competition, in which the canines took a back seat as the main attraction.

it's obvious that there are many more quality performances to come from holland in the coming seasons, with or without his footy shorts.

no, really...

chasing something else?

eric and jeremy: 'playboys' or 'play with boys'???they're after the one-million dollars - and the girls, if given the chance - but could the amazing race's eric and jeremy also be chasing something else?

the self-proclaimed "playboys", who admitted to an inquisitive phil that they were just "doin' what they do - chasing chicks", have been far from subtle about their macho straight-bois personae on the show. so, you might be surprised to know what really goes on when they're not racing.

a tipster over at jaunted.com sent these candid photos of the boys getting down low with the race's other two contestants. no, not with the long island girls, but rather with the two hippie "trustafarians" bois from san francisco. and it looks like all were having great fun!

jeremy and eric getting along real well with the san fran hippie bois

it really is amazing what a few can of beers and a lot of testosterone can do to your seemingly "normal" straight boi. more pics below.

eye candy of the week: wentworth miller

hunky english guy, wentworth miller

wentworth miller, born on june 2, 1972 in chipping norton, england, is a biracial actor who gained notoriety when he starred in the mariah carey videos, "it's like that" and "we belong together".

a princeton university graduate, miller spent time during college singing on stage, and traveled the world performing with the school's famed a capella group, the princeton tigertones. for reasons still a mystery to himself, his family and his friends, the young graduate headed to los angeles to pursue a behind-the-scenes career in the entertainment industry. and while he was able, with enviable ease, to turn an internship into a paying job and an actual burgeoning career, before long the drive to move in front of the camera became inescapable.

click to enlarge click to enlarge

within a couple of years, miller landed guest spots, learned fast and earned attention on series including "buffy the vampire slayer" and "popular". the special effects movie, "dinotopia" (2002) was his first starring role, followed by "underworld" (2002) and most recently, "the human stain" (2003).

miller owes his unique handsome features from mixed extractions. his father is half african american, one quarter english and one quarter jewish, while his mother is of french, dutch, syrian and lebanese descent. his tall athletic build as well as a baby-face appearance belies a softly spoken, deep-baritone voice that oozes sex appeal.

miller is currently starring as michael scofield in the fox network drama "prison break".

smoking

yea, he is smoking

question:

why is it that after a greasy breakfast, two cups of coffee, brushing my teeth and a hot shower, does my mouth still feel like an ashtray after last nite's drunken pash with a smoker???
